The Spirits Business’ Masters competition each year celebrates the best of the best in spirits.

The 2019 Vodka Masters awards were only awarded to two ‘super-premium’ spirits, with the prize going to the 88 Vodka from G&I Spirit Group.

The judges celebrated 88 Vodka for ‘big flavour done well’ with big hits of ‘citrus’ on the nose and ’sweet pepper finish’.

The G&I Spirit Group was also awarded five Golds and two Silvers in the prestigious awards.

This award proves that citrus vodka has earned its place as the best vodka for the best parties and, without the 88 Vodka, your drinks party would be incomplete.

If you want a great cosmopolitan cocktail recipe, add 45ml of 88 Vodka, 15ml of triple sec, 30ml of cranberry juice and 10ml of lime juice into a cocktail shaker. Shake with ice, strain into a cocktail glass then add an orange or lemon zest to garnish.

For an Espresso Martini, add 100g of caster sugar to a pan with 50ml of water and bring to the boil. Allow mixture to cool, add one tablespoon into a cocktail shaker along with 100ml of 88 Vodka, 50ml of espresso coffee, 50ml of Kahlua and shake with ice. Serve in a cocktail glass with coffee beans as garnish if desired.
